Moose Mount done ( Charlies Taxidermy)
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:39:34 AM »
This was the bull that AlanK's sister had killed on her OIL tags this past year. It sure was cool to listen to her tell her story about her hunt. She sure sounded excited and its been Months since she scored on her bull. I was not in when they had dropped it off, I had to go help my buddy pack out his 7x6 he had killed in the mudflow so I missed out on the enitial story, but my wife got to hear it first hand. Its pretty special to somewhat be a part of these hunting stories, I guess that is one of my most favorite things about being a Taxidermist . I think alot of people take this for granted , I dont.

Again, I appreciate the oportunity to bring your animal back to life and hope I portayed him as he was before you made your shot. I went through pages and pages of referance pictures to make sure I put him back to his stature as a big ol'bull moose should have. I see alot of moose mounts that do not have the ear butts and ears in the correct anatomical place on the animal. I did not want to get that wrong.  With this form, I see a full alert bull with his ears pinned .   ANyways, ebjoy the pictures. I wish I could have gotten some better pics but weather and size of the mount didnt let me  :chuckle:

She will sure be proud to display that and she can tell her hunting stories and have the proof on the wall. My friend has a disability mud flow tag for this year can I call you if we need a packer.

Depends on if I can get away or not. I have a 2 month old now and kinda makes it tough to get away. I like packing meat, its the best part of the hunt !

That is a beautiful job with one of natures ugliest creatures  :o
